a) For all Target Groups gain at least HALF your general points through interactive learning such as lectures, workshops peer review and some forms of distance learning
b) Take part in at least one peer review (own case records) or peer discussion (selected cases using a facilitator) :Note For IP or CLOs this needs to be a IP or CLO Peer Review not a OO or DO peer review respectively. For DO peer review its not mandatory but you can still join these sessions to accrue 3 CET points.
c) Accrue a minimum of 6 points every year (even if you have the minimum requirement) and have a minimum of 36 points over 8 competencies; (Communication, Contact Lens, Ocular Disease, Ocular Examination, Optical Appliances, Standards, Assessment of Vision Function and Assessment and Management of Binocular Vision).
d) For IP you need an additional minimum 18 points over 9 competencies (Always Improving, Share Decision Making, The Healthcare System, Information, Knowledge, Options, Professional, Safe, Self and Others).
e) For CLO you need an additional minimum 18 points over 5 competencies (Verification and Identification, Standards, Ocular Examination, Contact Lenses and Communication)
f) For DO Accrue a minimum of 6 points every year (even if you have the minimum requirement) and have a minimum of 36 points over 9 competencies; (Refractive Management, Communication, Contact Lens, Ocular Abnormalities, Ocular Examination, Optical Appliances, Standards, Paediatric Dispensing and Low Vision).
g) For newly qualified registrants you need to accrue 1 get points every 2 months. for example if you passed your professional exams or OSCEs in July you need 3 CET points pro-rata till the ned of the year to retain GOC registration. These can be in any competencies.
